Can I just say that I love the fact that this actress is the one playing Tifa? I mean, her voice DOES take some getting used to in contrast to the huskier voice that Ayumi Ito had, but it’s not horrible.
But in any case I have to say that I love it strictly because of how enthusiastic she is about this character. She has a really great idea as to who Tifa is and what sort of person she is like. Caretaker, strong physically and emotionally, very sensitive, multidimensional. and this is coming from a person who probably never played Final Fantasy VII in her life and didn’t know anything about this character prior to being her voice actor.
I should also add that I love Steve Burton’s enthusiasm for playing Cloud as well. It really makes me happy that these two voice actors are seriously honored to give life to these characters.
Han Young Ja, our longtime friend and colleague, the general manager at Studio Mir, provided some inspiration for Lin Beifong’s character design (but not her personality, I assure you). Mir responded to the response of the response with a little Photoshop fun.
Who is she??
We proudly present the living model of charismatic Beifong!! (manager of korra production)
They looked alike a lot more if you see her in person:)

Bryan uses himself as a reference= perfection.
Love that someone put these side by side for comparisons. Not all productions send acting references for animators- really great that they have been doing it, even for the previous series (it’s not just for the martial arts move!)
I’d like to think Andy Serkis would be great reference for body language in TOK.
